Connect

  • Engage in leadership roles in  
  • Meet peers with similar interests through interest-aligned clubs, classes, department events, etc. 
  • Strengthen relationships with faculty and identify potential mentors and support for letter of recommendations 
  • Discuss with faculty, academic and career advisors how coursework connects to future career path 
  • Conduct  with faculty and professionals; identify potential mentors 
  • Attend a Healthcare Career Fair 

Validate

  • Ask: Can I see myself doing more of this?  
  • Evaluate major fit through performance in higher-level coursework 
  • Apply for summer internships, research and relevant job opportunities, typically beginning in November or December  
  • Shadow clinical healthcare professionals if relevant to career goals  

Prepare

  • Strengthen writing, analysis, and research skills 
  • Plan remaining coursework toward graduation and next steps  
  • Update resume  
  • Create/update a  Profile 
  • If relevant: attend orientation for senior year major-specific internship
