| Description: |
During this elective, the student will share duties with the intern on the service. Emphasis will be on pre- and postoperative care and on operative surgical care. Through frequent teaching sessions, it is hoped that the student will come to understand basic surgical principles and see a wide variety of surgical conditions which he/she will follow from their diagnosis to discharge from the hospital. |
