The Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center boasts three world-class cancer research programs that work together to accomplish the Center’s mission to prevent and cure cancer.
Institutions categorized as R1 are defined as having total research expenditures that exceed $50M and confer more than 70 (non-professional) doctoral degrees per year. Through this classification, Loyola increased its capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation to help faculty, staff, and students achieve insights that lead to new treatments and improved care.
