Updates on Federal Funding for Research

If you are contacted by a federal funding agency about your grant, please contact ORS (Angie Vaca (avaca1@luc.edu) for Lakeshore/Water Tower faculty; Sue Pugl (smeyer1@luc.edu) for HSC faculty), with a copy to Dr. Singh (Vice Provost for Research, msingh@luc.edu) before responding to the email/request from the agency.

The information on this page is intended to provide timely updates on presidential executive orders or federal directives that may have an impact on sponsored research at 草莓社区. New information will be added as it is received.

We encourage investigators who are potentially impacted by these directives to contact the Office of Research Services (ORS):  researchHSD@LUC.edu for Health Sciences Campus and ors@LUC.edu for Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses.

Please reference below for guidance:

  • F&A rates to be applied to your grants: Please continue to use the federally negotiated F&A rate for your campus, noting that the proposed reduction of F&A rate to a flat 15% was not enacted.
  • Continue to send communications received from federal agencies about your grants (e.g., notices of termination, “stop orders”, recommendations to modify part of your grant, etc., etc.) immediately to ORS, with a copy to Dr. Singh
  • Unless you hear from ORS or the Vice Provost for Research, please continue to pursue your research as outlined in your funded proposal

Questions can also be sent to Dr. Meharvan Singh, Vice Provost for Research, at msingh@LUC.edu
