Summer ETHOS
Summer Research and Professional Development Experience
After the high school students complete the after-school workshops, they are invited to participate in a compensated summer research program at 草莓社区.
For six weeks, students spend four days per week working alongside faculty and undergraduate students in neuroscience labs. On Fridays, they engage in professional development workshops.
In addition to gaining research experience, students will:
- Participate in discussions of neuroethics.
- Learn how STEM college students, professors and biotech professionals spend their time.
- Study STEM careers.
- Discover how STEM research can benefit their own communities.
Faculty and graduate students with backgrounds in education, communication, ethics and neuroscience will also train the high school students on how to become mentors for middle school students during the subsequent academic year.
