FAQs
What is the timeline for completing the DTI?
Projects within the Digital Transformation Initiative have already begun rolling out to the community, and will continue through 2027. For additional detail, please reference individual project information pages.
How will the Loyola community stay informed?
The campus community can stay engaged through regular updates via this webpage and emailed updates.
What is Workday and why is the University implementing it now?
Workday is our new system for HR, Finance, and Student processes, replacing legacy systems for efficiency and transparency. We want an ERP system that allows our community to function as partners rather than administrators. Workday will allow us to focus our time and attention on activities that align to our mission and empower the University with data to drive business decisions.
What benefits will I see as a user of Workday?
Workday will provide all users with a modern look and feel, a user-friendly experience, access to real-time data and reports, and mobile access.
How will I use Workday?
That depends. If your daily work consists of HR or Finance tasks, you may work heavily in Workday. If your daily work consists of anything other than HR and Finance tasks then you may not use Workday daily. All employees will have access to self-service (i.e.: changing benefits, updating address, phone numbers, bank account information etc. as needed) in Workday and will be expected to use the self-service functionality.
How will Workday be tested before going live?
Building our Workday system consists of multiple phases where the Project Team works with our consulting partner to design the system to work for us. Then we will test hundreds of scenarios to make sure it works as we need it to. The last test we will complete will be when we run a payroll in Workday to make sure make sure Workday is calculating payroll and compensation to our standards.
How are project decisions being made and who is involved?
Decisions for the DTI effort are being made through a structured governance process that ensures representation from across the university. This approach helps us balance operational needs, policy requirements, and the user experience.
