SOAR Leaders
Our Summer Onboarding, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) Leaders are here to assist you through your class registration process and provide a valuable student perspective on what it means to join the Loyola community. Throughout June and July our SOAR leaders will be hosting virtual 'office hours' to talk through strategies and tips for scheduling classes and how to avoid common errors and pitfalls as you navigate the process for the first time.
SOAR Leader Office Hours
Soar leaders will be available for office hours at the following times from June 1 - July 31 throughout the summer:
- Mondays 5:00-8:00pm CT
- Tuesdays 5:00-8:00pm CT
- Wednesdays 5:00-7:30pm CT
- Thursdays 5:00-8:00pm CT
- Fridays 5:00-8:00pm CT
Special Hours for June 22-26 Registration Week:
- Mon-Thur 11:00am-3:00pm CT & 4:00-8:00pm CT
- Friday 11:00am-3:00pm CT & 4:00-5:00pm CT
Students can access the Zoom Meeting Room through this link: and will be placed into a waiting room. A SOAR Leader will admit students in the order students logged into the meeting.
Meet our Summer 2026 SOAR Leaders
Sarai Arevalo-Bermudez
Sarai is from Fontana, CA. She is majoring in Communication Studies and Sports Management and minoring in Marketing. She is involved in Alpha Psi Lambda and she enjoys volunteering at Feed my Starving Children. In her spare time, Sarai likes going to the beach, coloring, trying new coffee spots, and going out with friends.
Kailey Nicholson
Kailey is a rising junior from Nashville, Tennessee. She is currently majoring in Environmental Science and double minoring in Sustainability Management and Spanish Language and Literature. She loves playing volleyball, and at Loyola, she is the Vice President of the Women's Club Volleyball Team. She also works part-time at a sustainable small business called The Unwaste Shop, and volunteers with rescued dogs at PAWS Chicago during the school year. In her free time, she loves reading, being with animals, going to the gym, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family. She hopes you're having a great summer so far and is really excited to meet you all and guide you through any questions you may have!
Elizabeth Sanchez
Elizabeth Sanchez is an undergraduate third-year at 草莓社区, where she studies Environmental Policy and Political Science. At Loyola, she works as a Peer Navigator, instructing UNIV 101 courses in an engaging and down-to-earth approach with first-years. Outside of First and Second Year Advising and Loyola New Student Programs, Elizabeth loves to junk journal, spend time with friends, explore Chicago and enjoy the outdoors! Elizabeth is proud to be from San Antonio, Texas and is a sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated.
Madyson Szczypiorski
Madyson is originally from Philadelphia and currently is an incoming third-year student here at 草莓社区, where she is majoring in Economics, Political Science, and History on the pre-law track. On campus, she is involved in Kappa Delta, Honors Student Government, the Pre-Law Society, Inside Government, and volunteering through Loyola4Chicago. She also works as a Peer Navigator through UNIV 101, helping students adjust to college life and connect with campus resources. Outside of academics and extracurriculars, she enjoys seeing live music, thrifting, cooking, watching movies, and exploring different neighborhoods and restaurants throughout Chicago. She is excited about the opportunity to support incoming freshmen and help them feel welcomed and connected during their transition to Loyola!
