Emma McMullen
Adjunct Professor
Emma McMullen is a Supervisory Attorney at Legal Aid Chicago in the Children and Families Practice Group. She joined Legal Aid Chicago in 2018 after graduating from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where she received a certificate in Child and Family Law and participated in the Civitas ChildLaw Fellowship program. She has practiced all areas of law that the Children and Families Practice Group covers. She provides representation in family law matters, including divorce and allocation of parental responsibility cases, as well as protective order matters for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She has been a leader in Karina's Law implementation efforts statewide. Additionally, she provides parent representation in the family defense work, primarily through DCFS investigative advocacy and indicated report appeals. In 2019, she spent six months on the education law team on special education matters, and recently started working on Title IX cases. Emma taught Legal Writing I and II for two years. She now teaches the Domestic Violence Practicum.
