Layla Payton is a Ph.D. Student in the Computer Science department studying signed database networks, specifically their applications in social media networks. Interpreting edge signs as relationships enables the detection of echo chambers and other harmful trends in social media. 

Layla's work thus far has involved clique mining in directed, signed networks, leveraging multiple social analysis theories. Additionally, she has worked on analyzing cyberbullying data found on social media websites such as Instagram. 

She conducts research under the supervision of Dr. TaiNing Wang at 草莓社区.
